Hello there fellow readers of SAP Blog Posts 😃

This is Fábio Damasceno, a SAP Cloud Support Consultant, writing to you about a feature you might be wondering how it works: Line of Business! This is a personal follow-up that I wanted to do after closing a related incident some days ago.

With Line of Business you can categorize better your Accounts and Individual Customers, a part of the Banking Industry Solution.

As this link covers, "SAP Cloud for Customer for Banking is the next generation lead-to-opportunity sales solution for banking companies that will enable them to engage with individual customers interested in client managed banking services or corporations looking for commercial banking services. The solution enables the banking companies engage, service, and retain customers."

Everything starts in the business configuration:

You should have banking solution selected; Wealth Management will make LoB available for Individual Customers and Commercial Banking will do the same for Accounts. Also, make sure to add to the project the Banking activity later in the fine-tuning, as picture below demonstrates:

Inside this activity, we can check the available LoB by clicking in the "Banking Line of Business names" hyperlink.

Below we can find examples of the standard ones:

And here is the point where many wonder "I included it all in the scoping, fine-tuning and I can see LoB here but why I cannot add them to my Accounts/Individual Customers?"

For this, an additional step is required. Let us go to the Sales work center -> Territories view -> New button:

By doing this, Accounts/Individual customers of the territories set as above will benefit from the Line of Business now, when creating a Lead for example.

This is but a first step diving deeper in the possibilities that LoB can bring to your current Banking business needs. Please feel free to give us your thoughts in the comment section below to continue the discussion and maybe brew a new topic for my new post 😃 Looking to hear from you, bye!
