[SAP HANA Academy] SPS08 What's New: SAP HANA Answers - 2. Install Plugin

As part of the "What's New" video series for SAP HANA SPS08 the SAP HANA Academy’s Tahir Hussain “Bob” Babar details how to install the SAP HANA Answers plugin for SAP HANA Studio.

Installing SAP HANA Answers for SAP HANA Studio (0:00 – 3:44)

First visit answers.saphana.com to view instructions on how to install the SAP HANA Answers plugin for SAP HANA Studio. SAP HANA Studio SPS5 rev. 45 or later must be used for the plugin to function. The plug-in is supported in accordance with the terms of use rather the software license for HANA Studio SPS 7 rev. 70 and later.

Copy the URL listed under step 2 and launch SAP HANA Studio. Click on help and choose install new software and paste in the URL into the work with text box at the top. Name the repository, select all and click next a few time before finally agreeing with the license to install the SAP HANA Answers plugin. Once SAP HANA Studio is restarted then a user can access SAP HANA Answers.

Configuring Notifications for SAP HANA Answers (3:44 – 4:32)

Select the blue A HANA Answers icon that now appears on the bottom and top of SAP HANA Studio and choose the option to configure notifications. After logging into a SAP HANA account a user can configure their notification settings under the profile tab. 

Rearranging the SAP HANA Answers Window (4:32 – 5:57)

Once the SAP HANA Answer window is minimized a user can drag it to anyplace on the screen and resize the window to their preference.
