One topic in particular will grab your attention if you've used SAP Enable Now for a while - it's now possible to assign specific content assets to specific business roles! Read on to find out about this really cool new possibility and more.

Major Changes

Personalize Content Access

**Business Role Support:**

Bespoke content for unique business roles, tailored to support your individual needs! SAP is now offering a personalized content view based on user-specific business roles. This feature filters your learning content and SAP Companion content, showcasing only what's relevant for you.

This was one of the most requested [Feature Request] - you talked and we listened!

Check out the [Tutorial]to see it live.

Machine Translation for Authors in the Browser

**Machine Translation in Workarea View:**

Say "Hola" or "Bonjour" to your content in any language you desire! The new machine translation feature enables easy content translation into your preferred language when duplicating content directly from within your Manager in the browser. This feature leverages the integrated SAP Translation Hub machine translation (further information can be found here).

To do this, authors can specify a language in the new Language setting of the Duplicate feature in the workarea view. During the duplication, the desired content is translated.

Duplicate and then translate directly in your browser

Here's the [Tutorial] to help you get started.

Get ready to roll - faster than ever!

See what's running and log out seamlessly

**Asynchronous Server Operations and Job Overview:**

No more waiting around! SAP Enable Now Manager has introduced extensive server processes that run in the background, allowing you to continue working seamlessly. Extensive server processes are now started as an asynchronous operation and running in the background to avoid the UI is blocked and to allow to seamless continue working in Manager.

Keep track of all running jobs in Manager

An overview within the Manager’s header bar provides an indication of which tasks are being performed and which ones are completed.

**Single Logout Support:**

Log out once, log out from all! SAP Enable Now Manager now supports single logout, simplifying user sessions for those using single sign-on with SAML.

Our in-app help features have seen a revamp, too

SAP Companion is on a different release schedule than our main SAP Enable Now solution. This means that you get new features faster and more frequently!

A lot has happened over the last year for SAP Companion, so here's a list to get you up to date.

In-app help and embedded content out-of-the-box for SAP Analytics Cloud

**SAP Companion for SAP Analytics Cloud:**

Integrated SAP Companion with SAP Analytics Cloud provides interactive help to users when they need it the most. The interactive help is already activated and contains a selection of content to provide users with the help they need if they need it.

Create your own in-app content for Manager

**Extensibility for SAP Companion in SAP Enable Now Manager:**

Craft your own SAP Companion content with our new feature. Provide custom help, guided tours, and learning content to your authors and content project members.

You decide who sees what and when

**Conditions in SAP Companion**

Craft personalized guidance for your users with our new Conditions feature. Control the display of in-app content based on user-defined conditions. Conditional display of help content enhances your didactical possibilities - avoid mistakes and help users exactly when needed.

This is covered in my recent [blog] - make sure to read about this great feature!

Too many parameters? Help is on the way!

**Shortened parameter names**

In some apps there are character limits when configure SAP Companion by using the parameters. To allow a more flexible configuration, for some parameters a shortened variant has been introduced. The longer names can still be used.

For example: showShortDescription - shortDesc

The shortened parameters are already included in the corresponding guides, for example in the SAP Companion Integration guide.

For those "in your face" moments

**Callouts for on-screen content**

Never miss out on crucial updates with our new Callouts feature.

To draw your users' attention to an important change on the UI, reduce impact from a changed process, or simply offer more proactive guidance for a task that you know is complex. A callout automatically displays key information to users even when the SAP Companion panel is not open.

And these "don't you stray from the path" processes

**Spotlight for Guided Tours:**

Add a spotlight to any steps in the guided tours for a focused learning experience.

The spotlight for guided tours provides a delightful user experience and helps contribute to a focused learning experience for users, by having a visual representation of the immediate action the user needs to take to complete the task while the rest of the screen is not actionable.

Add spotlights to make sure everyone follows the path exactly

For an even greater level of focus, authors can also set the background screen opacity and a blur effect for the spotlight.

Hotspots - hotter than ever

**Animated Hotspots**

Engage with your users using animated hotspots to highlight new features or provide guidance.

Animations for hotspots allow it to engage with users and call their attention to important features and changes. Animated hotspots can be used to highlight a new feature, to prompt users to perform a task, or to give them guidance that they shouldn't miss.

**Triangle Hotspots**

Offer help in a subtle, non-intrusive way with our new triangle hotspot feature.

Some processes, tasks or screens can be complex, where authors might find that there's no way around cluttering an already field-intensive screen with a large number of hotspots. The new triangle hotspot offer help in a subtle, non-intrusive way, especially on screens that contain a large number of rectangular fields.

**New Parameters for Hotspot Icon Colors**

To allow you to customize the color hotspot icons in the Important category, there is a new set of new parameters. You can either assign all icon hotspots the same color using HSIconBg and HSIconFg or you can set a different color for the Important icons, by using the new parameters HSIconImpBg and HSIconImpFg.

Web-based recording just got even greater

The next set of updates revolves around the web-based recording features, which we had introduced last year in November.

Improve learner experience through template usage

**Authoring Settings**

Your workarea's authoring settings will now be considered for web-based recording, ensuring process consistency.

Stay flexible when recording

**Recording of Newly Opened Windows**

A new window opens up during the recording of simulations? No worries, you can continue the process in this new popup.

If a new window is opened in an app during web-based recording of simulations, the process can now be continued in this window. A dialog box asks whether you want to continue recording in this new window or whether you want to return to the previous window.

You asked for big, we give you big

**Webcam Size Options**

More flexibility during video recording with Extra Small and Extra Large webcam size options. Check out the [Feature Request] for more information.

Making it simpler to record and preview

**Navigation in Enlarged Preview**

Reviewing screens in the preview post-recording just got easier. Navigate between the enlarged screens effortlessly, especially beneficial for larger screens.

**Prefilled Name for Web-Based Recording**

To simplify the recording process, the name of a recording will now be prefilled with the first window title of the selected target app.

**Preselected Content Language**

The recording process has been simplified further by preselecting the content language of a recording based on the content language of the selected group.

Still want more? It's on the way!
