Q2) What is this integration all about? Why was it important for Axxiome to apply for the SAP integration certification?
Axxiome Digital V1.4 has been certified for integration with SAP Applications. Certified functions include Business Partner Origination, Business Partner Servicing, Account Origination and Account Servicing, Teller, and Payments. In fact, this certification is not a first of its kind for Axxiome products in relation to SAP. Axxiome’s previous generation products such as PROGVS and JKassa have enjoyed SAP certification for over a decade now. Axxiome Digital has modernized some of the core functionalities from its predecessor products to serve the needs of clients todayand this new certification from SAP continues the legacy.
Axxiome helps banking clients with strategic, digital transformation initiatives. A crucial aspect for banks aiming end-to-end digitalization is having a core banking platform that truly supports the transformation – digital-ready, connected, scalable, flexible yet robust enough for decades to come. SAP addresses all the aspects through its core banking platform, SAP Banking Services, that offers the best in class back-end technology for banks. Axxiome Digital completes the digitalization puzzle in the front-end. A tight integration of Axxiome Digital with SAP Banking Services therefore became important, so we can offer clients a ready-to-run, end-to-end banking platform.
Q3) What does the Axxiome Digital V1.4 technically consist of?
Axxiome Digital is fully developed in Java programming language. It is based on a microservice architecture with built-in Business Process Management (BPMN2 standard) and a Decision Management engine to efficiently manage business processes and business rules. The integration is done via the Axxiome Digital Adapter which comes with a huge set of technical interfaces to integrate to 3rd party systems as well as core and legacy systems. The channels are developed with the open UI5 framework from SAP in JavaScript, and XML defined screens that consumes RESTful APIs with a JSON payload to deal with the underlaying layer.
Q4) What does the integration mean for customers? What benefits does it offer?
The seamless integration of Axxiome Digital with SAP Banking Services combines the best of back-end technology and a digital core in SAP Banking Services and an intelligent platform for omni-channel, customer engagement and digital innovation in the front-end with Axxiome Digital. The pre-integrated, ready-to-deploy solution helps banks easily address changing customer needs, deliver previously unimaginable digital customer experiences, exploit modern technologies, digitize and automate operations reducing costs and improving user experiences, increase speed to market for new products, leverage data in real or near real-time and choose a business model that is best suited to their strengths.
Integration between the front-end and back-end systems, from our vast experience in banking, is one of the more crucial aspects in any transformation projects. It can be time-consuming, ambiguous and at times risky and disruptive too.
