Half-year is gone, but hey, welcome, June! And, as we enter the second half of 2022, SAP Profitability and Performance Management 3.0 (SAP PaPM) would like to introduce you to the second Support Package (SP18) for this year which will be released on the 2nd half of June.

As we read through this blogpost, I will be much delighted to walk you through to the new features and enhancements that SP18 has to offer.

Let’s begin!

Modeling Environment

1. Import from Excel Validation for Model Table

If you like to keep your Model Table's data up to date by uploading it from a local file (excel) using the "Import from Excel" button, this feature will come in handy. In SP18, a new validation message in Data Editor screen is introduced that will inform users which combination of column and row in the excel file contains invalid data and is therefore unsuitable for uploading.

2. New component for RFA FI-GLI

In SP18 the new Component accountgl-trade_id (Company ID of trading partner) for Remote Function Adapter with type General Ledger Items (Rules tab) will be introduced.

With this component, business users can now use a Company ID of trading partner when posting a document to a target system.

Execution Example:

ACDOCA Table:

3. New components for RFA FI-AP and RFA-AR

The same is true for Remote Function Adapters with type: Finance Accounts Payable (FI-AP) and Finance Accounts Receivable (FI-AR) The new components such as: Company ID of Trading Partner and Condition Type are also introduced.

Business users can now use these components when posting a document to a target system. Users can also put different condition types for each pricing, discounts on goods, tax and surcharge that occurs in business transactions.

Execution Example:

ACDOCA Table:

BSET Table:

Along with that, the Tax Jurisdiction component is also introduced for the business users to define the tax authority to which taxes must be paid.

Performance Improvements

SAP Profitability and Performance Management SP18 offers an optimized activation performance. Modelers will appreciate the increased activation speed after refactoring some activation logic.

Visual Modeler

SAP Profitability and Performance Management 3.0 Visual Modeler is excited to announce the addition of the "Waterfall" chart type, a type of data visualization that aids in determining the cumulative effect of sequentially introduced positive or negative values. Derived from BAR/COLUMN charts that can also be horizontal or vertical.

The Waterfall chart type employs an intermediate sum point that serves as a summary column for the values added or subtracted since the previous intermediate sum, as well as a point that displays the total sum across the entire series.
