Hi everyone. Wishing you health and happiness in this new year. Ok, let's get started.

There are many blogs out there today that our customers and partners are reading and taking the information in those blogs directly into their SAP implementation projects. This is what makes my team and myself happy that we are continuing to provide value to our customers in this simple old school style of business logs aka blogs.

Two of the biggest topics on our mind today is "Rise with SAP" and "SAP Activate". If you are a consultant or Project Manager of software implementations, you for sure have heard of SAP Activate. SAP Activate is SAP's implementation methodology that has evolved from our previous methodology name, SAP Launch. What is the difference? Well, a lot of things are different. SAP Activate methodology is built around six phases of a software implementation. Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy and Run. In each of these phases we have built in a set of deliverables and tasks for a project team to follow in their SAP deployment projects. A virtual project plan if you will.

This is exactly the guidance that project teams rely on to execute on the proven and simple set of principles and techniques detailed in the SAP Activate approach supported by the ready-to-run business processes that SAP delivers to all SAP S/4HANA Cloud customers. It provides a set of deliverables and tasks that give the customer the cloud mindset to the most important part of SAP Activate, the fit-to-standard approach.

What we and many other software companies talk about the most is the digital transformation journey. Let’s be honest, in the past Infrastructure-as-a-Service or Software-as-a-Service alone will not cut it anymore. To truly transform, companies need a holistic offering. What they really need is Business Transformation-as-a-Service. Together with our ecosystem of customers and partners, we are bundling everything companies need to holistically transform their business with a faster time to value — at their own speed and terms, regardless of their starting point. It simplifies our customers’ journey in three simple steps.

Step 1: Business Process Redesign. Thanks to a direct connection to SAP’s workflow, robotic process automation (RPA), and other artificial intelligence (AI) services, intelligence can be seamlessly embedded in business processes. This will allow customers to continuously analyze how business processes perform, benchmark them against industry standards, and provide tailored recommendations on how to adopt to new business models, automation, and standardize processes.

Step 2: Technical Migration. This includes the essential services from SAP and SAP partners to get rid of modifications and custom code to support them in harmonizing and governing their data layer so they can run and steer their company based on one single source of truth.

Step 3: Build Your Intelligent Enterprise. The basis is the cloud infrastructure. Customers will gain a reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to their existing IT landscapes, by running the workloads in an SAP data center or via the hyper-scalers of their choice. And no matter which infrastructure they choose or whom the operations partner selected is, SAP will be their single point of contact.

Learn how several customers have done exactly this by reading a new blog post by sven.denecken titled, SAP S/4HANA Cloud customers gain value and speed using SAP Activate in their projects

For those customers looking for a private or hybrid cloud landscape a new blog posted last week by SAP Senior Product Manager, adnette.kamugisha which is getting lots of views (1,120 views so far) titled, RISE with SAP: SAP Activate Methodology for with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition

In closing, I hope I have shed some light on Rise with SAP and SAP Activate together. Helping customers and partners achieve a best run business is why I work for SAP. The best companies in the world run SAP and it is my hope that more and more companies realize that the future is very bright and filled with many opportunities for success. But the one constant that remains between all these successful companies is their ability to adapt and change on the fly by adopting new digital technology to replace non-digital or manual processes and having the understanding that change is the only constant.
