Hi IQ Experts,

We are migrating an SAP IQ SP03 DB from a RHEL7 server to SAP IQ SP05 on a new RHEL8 server.

We are planning to use this procedure using BACKUP and RESTORE commands:

https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_IQ/8214756b4d314d09a86fef212e2036d1/a683e9e984f21015af8399b8d8affeba.h...

Is it supported to run the BACKUP DATABASE command using SAP IQ SP03 binaries on the old server and then run the RESTORE DATABASE command using SP05 binaries on the new server?

Further to this is it supported to then take incremental backups (example command below) using the SAP IQ SP03 binaries on the old server and then apply them to the restored database with the RESTORE DATABASE command using SP05 binaries on the new server?

BACKUP DATABASE INCREMENTAL READWRITE FILES ONLY TO '/dump/filename' SIZE 100000000

yes correct we have done this several times and it works very well....we have also renamed the database from the source (e.g. DB1) to target (i.e. DB2) and renamed the data files on the target
