Hello Experts,

Any one has experience in implemention of ARIBA integration with same SAP ERP (S4 HANA Onpremise) via below both methods

  1. CIG+Middleware ( Ariba – CIG – middleware – ERP) for one ariba solution
  2. CIG Direct connection ( Ariba – CIG – ERP) with same ERP for other solution

We are trying to check if manipulating the ERP System id in interfaces etc..

Any suggestions / experiences ?

since existing system has middleware already, why not use existing middleware as pass-thru only or option 2?

Thanks everyone for your response.

Hence it is concluded to have same way of integration for all Ariba solutions within implemenation.

And use middleware only unless it is very much mandatory considering securities aspects or mappings.

You can have a single ERP with multiple SAP Business Network (Ariba) applications/accounts through CIG without middleware; please do not add middleware as another layer unless you have a solid requirement for that because it is just to add more complexity to your integration without any real need.

If your company is implementing a new solution to connect via CIG, you should have a Buyer Integrator from SAP assigned to your project and it is the Buyer Integrator responsibility to assist the design of your future architecture.

Hello Miranda,

Yes i agree about middleware addition and design reviewing phase are critical.

Since it is already crossed that stage, what are the options now ? Either to connect new solution with same middleware again or any other workaround is possible.

you can always go back and discuss the architecture with the buyer integrator, if you still have this role with you. This is the best advice that I can give you because I don't know all the nuances on your landscape.

if you don't have a buyer integrator anymore, ask your SAP CSP/CEE (customer experience) counterpart how you can have back a buyer integrator to assist with the design.

You don't need a workaround, the solution works with a single ERP instance through CIG... you probably just don't know how to make it work.

I guess my question is why? CIG supports full data processing and enhancement support for standard processing. S/4HANA/Cloud/CIG/Ariba.

Let me put in this way.

Business implemented Ariba B&I integration with ABCCLNT100 with CIG+ middleware initially years back.

Now can be the same ERP can be connected to Ariba SCC (AN) solution with just CIG , without middleware connection ?

Connection to same ERP with Addon transport type is not accepted because Already HTTPS transport type for middleware is existing in CIG Portal.

Hence any workarounds or solutions possible this case ?
