As we move as quickly as possible to update all tutorials for SAP HANA  version 2.0, we wanted to give you the chance to get introduced to some of the cool features in XS Advanced delivered in SPS12.

With that purpose, the updated series of three step-by-step tutorials is now available here.

Some of the most relevant new features in XS Advanced are:

Git Integration

The creation of the MTA project has been replaced to start with the creation of the Git repository. Once integrated into your workplace, this is where your MTA project, comprising a Web application and HDI module will live.

If you are new to GitHub, this is a good time to get started! Although the tutorial will show the two steps to create a repository, you can get familiar with the usual terms and further actions to share your projects with other developers here.

Spaces

Spaces are also here to stay and make our lives easier. They are the new way to group applications that should have access to the same resources and isolate them from those applications that should not have access to, for example, a database schema.

As of SPS12, different custom spaces can be created within an Organization. This also means that namespaces are no longer needed at all, which also makes coding and reading easier.

Whether you are catching up with the latest updates or getting started with SAP HANA development, this is a very good starting point for XS Advanced.

Before you begin, I will strongly advise you make sure both your HANA instance and XSA client are up to date with the latest version and patch.

Additionally, we were so eager to get started with HANA 2.0, that these are actually the only series to be updated for SPS12. So, enjoy them while they last!
