Introduction

SAP Cloud Integration version 5.45.**/6.37.**, one of the capabilities of SAP Integration Suite, comes with an enhancement to support logged-in user propagation as transport owner for artifact and package Transport . This blog describes how to use this feature.

SAP Cloud Integration version 5.45.**/6.37. ** software update is planned on mid/end of March 2023  (date and time subjected to change).

User Propagation

The user propagation feature is only supported for transport mode Transport Management Service (TMS). Transport mode can be seen in Cloud Integration -> Settings -> Transport tab, sample image give below.

Now, when you select the artifact lists view -> Actions -> Transport (or when you click on Transport button at Integration Package top right corner), you will notice a checkbox - as shown below images - is available. By-default it is not selected.

User propagation checkbox

When you select the checkbox, the text field underneath will pre-populate with the logged-in user's user ID.

Now, when you add some comments and click on Transport button, the user ID will be propagated as transport owner in TMS.

You can open the TMS cockpit -> Transport Nodes, the owner column will contain the user ID of Cloud Integration Web UI logged-in user. Sample image given below.

Summary

SAP Integration Suite – Cloud Integration has now enabled to support for user propagation for Transport in TMS mode. In case where you need to track or correlate the user who has actually transported it, you can now use the owner field of TMS cockpit to identify.
