Dear ITS/WEBGUI users, SAP Basis, WEBGUI fans,

From time to time we face an issue while using a given transaction via WEBGUI.

Since release 7.02, with kernel 7.20, and more recently with the adoption of the kernel 7.20 (and 7.21) DCK and with the new Netweaver 7.40, the corrections are mostly delivered via kernel patches.

I decided to list all the corrections for the three current kernel versions, i.e. 7.20, 7.21 and 7.40, in the following documents:

ITS/WEBGUI corrections in Kernel 7.20

ITS/WEBGUI corrections in Kernel 7.21

ITS/WEBGUI corrections in Kernel 7.40

Why have a list of the corrections?

Because it might narrow down a little bit the SAP note search for an issue.

Let's have an example: I am facing an issue with the WEBGUI Java applet, responsible for the upload/download operations via WEBGUI. The web browser issues a security warning with a message like:

"...

Block potentially unsafe components from being run?

..."

I can pick the list from the kernel I use, e.g. 7.20, and look for notes with short text "ITS up/down" or "ITS updown".

From the 631 notes in the current list, I can narrow down the search to 26 notes.

It is possible to narrow the list even more, by left behind the notes that are already included in my current patch level.

Eventually I will find SAP note 1850603, telling me to apply a new kernel patch level (as of patch level 434 for this sample scenario).

Hopefully you can take advantage of these lists.

Regards,

Cris

PS: Unfortunately the lists are no longer available. The content could not be considered as a valid document.
