The new version of the SAP HANA Cloud guided experience offers an introduction into the database’s role in building and powering intelligent data applications. Database enthusiasts of all levels of expertise can implement the different features of SAP HANA Cloud that power next generation intelligent data applications. Read on for all the details and then register for your free account.

What are intelligent data applications?

Intelligent data applications represent the next generation of applications that leverage the advanced capabilities of the data tier such as data tiering, multi-model processing, and embedded machine learning. These next generation applications enhance the user experience and enable quick, informed decisions. Further, these applications utilize the built-in data integration features of the underlying database such as replication and virtualization to make all relevant business data available to the application.

What is SAP HANA Cloud?

SAP HANA Cloud is a single database as a service for modern applications and analytics across all enterprise data. This service powers mission-critical applications with one solution at a petabyte scale. With built-in capabilities for multi-model processing and embedded machine learning, SAP HANA Cloud is uniquely suited for building intelligent data applications.

What is the SAP HANA Cloud guided experience?

The guided experience offers an easy to-follow and informative learning journey that is broken into feature-specific sections:

  • Getting Started and Introduction

  • In-Memory Column Tables

  • Data Tiering

  • Multi Model – Spatial

  • Multi Model – Graph

  • Multi Model – Document Store

  • Multi Model – AutoML Introduction

Each section is organized with a simple yet effective two-step format: (1) a description of the core features supplemented by instructions on how to execute; and (2) hands-on exercises to experience the technology in real-time. Users will gain experiential knowledge to key database features important for every intelligent data application. Expect to spend approximately four hours on the guided steps.

This self-service experience is for anyone interested in learning more about SAP HANA Cloud’s capabilities and features. Whether you are a customer, partner, student, or even an SAP employee, SAP HANA Cloud is great first step to learning more about the power of in-memory computing.

What happens when the tutorial is finished?

After completing all of the sections, the user can utilize the remaining 30 days for independent learning. Example additional hands-on activities include loading sample data into the database schema, writing custom SQL and SQLScript using the SAP HANA database explorer, and further exploration of the advanced processing engines such as graph, spatial, and embedded machine learning.

Once the 30 day period has expired, the account will no longer be available. Any SQL objects created as well as user data will be automatically deleted without exception.
