Following up to my last blog  SAP TM Integration with Last Mile Distribution - SAP Community will get in details in this blog I will focus on Route Execution.

There is different route type dependence how you setup your scenarios, for example, presales, delivery, or van sales. However, it is also possible to define route types for routes that combine the planning and execution of deliveries, van sales, and presales or merchandiser activities. For example, a delivery driver who typically delivers goods to customers might also occasionally capture sales orders and returns for the next delivery cycle.

You define a Route type with the build sequence.

After defining the Route follow the next path:

  • Map Source Types to Route Types
  • Map Source Statuses to Route Life Cycle Statuses
  • Map Route Categories to Route Types

More details can be check here: Route | SAP Help Portal

A Route exists 2 types with SAP LMD:

  • Paper-Based: All documents related to a route are printed out for the delivery driver. During route execution, the driver records all activities on paper. After a route is completed, the driver hands in all remaining documents and a settlement clerk checks all route information and records it by using the Settle Route Data app.
  • Mobile: All information related to a route is downloaded to the mobile device of the driver. During route execution, the driver records all activities on the mobile device. The driver uploads information about individual stops either during route execution or on completion of the route.

In this scenario will use the Standard Fiori App (Settle Route Data) to the Route Execution:

Once you open the Settle Route Data, can be filter with some parameters.

The Route ID in standard is the same number as the FO number from TM.

When we get inside in The Route, we can see the sequence of the process:

  • Check Out
  • Customer Documents
  • Check In
  • Payments
  • Differences
  • Log
  • Comments

In each of those Tab we can see the details of the Goods + Quantities the driver is moving for each customer and of the total are loading in the vehicle.

In the Check Out before the Driver leave the Warehouse the quantities can be adjusts in case is needed and following the Reason Code and Inventory Group.
