Welcome to another edition (the last one of 2023!) of the ‘What’s new in SAP Business Network for Supply Chain’ series of blog posts where I discuss the new features delivered with every major release.

While you can get a full overview of the 2311 release items for SAP Business Network for Supply Chain under the following link, I wanted to focus on two that I consider especially great additions to the solution.

  • Item Reconfirmation in Supplier Workbench

This feature lets suppliers use the Items to confirm list to revise eligible confirmed line items and reconfirm them. This feature also adds columns for shipped and received quantities to the “Items to confirm” tile and the Order Confirmation template for Upload/Download.

This new feature empowers your organization to:

  1. Improve supply chain resiliency, through a holistic, multi-order overview that supports informed decisions for supply chain disruptions.

  2. Increase order transparency with fast, simple item reconfirmation processing.

  3. Enhance customer satisfaction, with timely and accurate confirmations.

  • Order Confirmation Deviation Approval Rule for Scheduling Agreements and Scheduling Agreement Releases

This feature introduces a rule that configures deviation approval in order confirmations for scheduling agreements and scheduling agreement releases only. The existing rule to configure order confirmation deviation approval is changed to apply only to purchase orders.

The main benefit is that customers now have more flexibility to configure the order confirmation deviation approval process. It can be enabled for regular purchase orders only, for scheduling agreement and scheduling agreement releases only, or for the three types of documents.

That’s it for 2023. I wish you a happy holiday season and stay tuned for more news coming soon on SAP Business Network for Supply Chain next year!
