In today's fast-paced world, mobile technology is changing the way we live and work. In HR, it streamlines processes, enhances employee experiences, and supports remote and distributed workforces.
In this blog, I will provide an overview of the latest innovations in the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app, which help organizations create a more efficient, connected, and people-centric workplace. My top three personal favorites are the improved guided activation experience, the new integrated learning experience which includes AI-powered recommendations, and the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Quick Actions.
We are also continuing to adopt the latest SAP Fiori with Horizon design standards for learning, Ask HR, time off and time sheet approvals, to-do approvals, and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central workflow approvals.
Improved and Guided Activation Experience
As I wrote above, one of my favorite innovations is the improved and guided activation experience. The users get help when and where it is needed. Also, search suggestions to increase success of activation by company name are provided. This leads to a smoother and more user-friendly activation experience with contextual help and search suggestions. Watch the video to learn more about this improved experience.
For companies with camera restrictions, activation codes can now be included in an email. Users can directly trigger an email notification from their settings in the web application. This generates an activation code that is sent via email and can be entered during the activation process to verify their identity.
1st step: The user navigates to their settings from the web application, activates the email notification, and triggers the activation code.
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Our new integrated learning experience, which includes a redesigned learning home page and personalized AI-powered recommendations, encourages users in their learning path. Watch the video to get an overview of the new integrated learning experience.
Let’s start with Personalized AI Recommendations, which are another favorite innovation: Personalized AI recommendations can make the educational journey more efficient and effective, while being tailored to individual needs and goals. Learners can review and act on personalized recommendations to accelerate development and growth.
In addition to AI-powered recommendations, we have delivered peer-to-peer recommendations for learning, which can significantly enhance the educational experience. Learners can now view recommended learning items from peers and managers, and complete these items now, or save for later. Learning items can easily be shared to help encourage personal growth and development.
Also, learners now can set bookmarks for learning items that they want to engage with later, or that they need to revisit on a recurring basis.
Finally, with our new unified search experience, learners can easily make use of search learning catalogs for a specific item. This includes keyword suggestions, filters and result highlights features with a better performant user experience. Learners can now find the courses they are looking for in a timely manner, while reducing effort.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Configurable SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Quick Actions are my third favorite innovation. It is valuable because it puts control in the hands of users, allowing them to tailor their experiences to meet their specific needs and preferences, enhancing user satisfaction and efficiency. They are available for 16 self-services. To learn more about this capability and the use cases available in this release, visit the What’s New Viewer.
One other great innovation for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central is the auto delegation per workflow. It allows employees to delegate different workflow requests to different groups of delegatees. These groups are predefined by an administrator. Auto delegation per workflow empowers employees to be more productive and responsive. It minimizes workflow bottlenecks, reduces the risk of missed deadlines, and ensures that tasks are efficiently distributed.
SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals
Addressing a popular customer request, we are happy to deliver a new push notification feature. Push notifications can significantly increase user engagement and encourage them to take specific actions in time. Employees are now timely informed about comments on their goals made by colleagues. And users can respond to the comment.
Another enhancement is the support for the performance potential section. The performance potential summary section allows users to manually give performance and potential ratings directly from their mobile device.
SAP SuccessFactors Time Management
We are happy to address another customer request for time off with the support for conditional custom fields for mobile. The conditional custom fields can be configured based on specific conditions for other fields. It enables a more tailored and precise submission of information based on specific organizational needs for time off requests. Users can enter and access data more efficiently as they are not overwhelmed with unnecessary fields.
The screenshot on the left side shows a new absence request for vacation without a conditional custom field. The request for sickness shows a custom conditional field for the absence reason of sickness.
Additionally, leaves with no specific end date are now supported. Handling undetermined end dates is essential for scenarios when users need a leave, but do not know the end date at the time they request the leave. The undetermined end date switch will appear once the absence type Open Ended Absence is selected.
