Create Half Day Holiday in SuccessFactors Timeoff

However, if you want to set your working schedule for the half day, then it is required to configure the variant. But before we create the Half Day Holiday pattern, please ensure the below permissions (RBP) are assigned to your user ID:

• Administrator Permissions --> Metadata Framework -->

After we have the required permissions and the Time off is enabled now for example, lets follow the below steps to create a Holiday with a name “Drive day”, where the first half is a working day and the second half is a holiday

1. Admin Center --> Manage Time off Structures (or Manage Data) --> Create New --> Holiday.

1. Admin Center --> Manage Time off Structures (or Manage Data) --> Create New --> Work Schedule Day Model Variant Identifier

Let's create Work Schedule Day Model Variant Identifier for example, “1HW_2HH (1HW_2HH)”

1. Admin Center --> Manage Time off Structures (or Manage Data) --> Create New --> Work Schedule Day Model

• Create the work schedule with the working hours for the half day. Ensure Day Model usage as “Variant for Partial Holidays”.
• To be able to define a particular time for working on the half day, select “Clock Times” for Time Recording variant.

1. Admin Center --> Manage Time off Structures (or Manage Data) --> Create New --> Work Schedule Day Model

While creating Work Schedule Day Model in Variant Assignments assign Work Schedule Day Model Variant Identifier created above for example, “1HW_2HH (1HW_2HH)” in the Day Model Variant Identifier and the variant Work Schedule Day Model created above:  1HW_2HH_WDM

1. Admin Center --> Manage Time off Structures (or Manage Data) --> Create New --> Holiday Planned Working Time Determination

Assign the Holiday Category and set it is as Reduced Planned working time in the Holiday Planned Working Time

1. Admin Center -->Manage Time off Structures (or Manage Data) --> Create --> Holiday Calendar

Assign the Holiday “Drive Day” to your Holiday Calendar and in the details for the date of the Drive Day Holiday assign the Holiday Category created above “Half Day Second Half (Half Day (SH))”

Similarly, to apply half day variant to other Work schedule, create Work Schedule Day model with Variant for Partial Holidays and assign the same Day Model Variant identifier and the Holiday category for the Half Day will follow the variant. For example, let’s say the working Variant for Afternoon Shift is from 06:00 pm to 10:00 pm on a half day holiday then create:

1. Work Schedule Day model with Day Model usage as Variant for Partial Holiday having the start time and end time as 06:00 pm to 10:00 pm as the scheduled working time.
2. Assign this Variant Work schedule day Model and the Day Model Variant Identifier to the parent Work schedule Regular Day Model
