We are at the tipping point where Quote 2.0 is de-facto standard delivering immersive performance, great integrations and exclusive features all contributing to always evolving user experience.  Need to compare two quotes? Want to use promotions out of the box? Selling multi level configurations? Change processes with BRIM? Just keep reading!

Promotions in Quote 2.0

Customers running on Quote 2.0 will be able to use brand new promotions feature in upselling and cross-selling scenarios. There are options to create a promotion for Product, Product type and/or Product category.
CPQ admins can define Discount percent, Discount Amount or Exact price for a promotion but also to use quantity or amount scales. Promotions live under Pricing/Calculations in Setup.

Quote Revision and Comparison

Quote and revision comparison functionality enables you to compare two revisions of the same quote or two different quotes. You have the flexibility to choose the fields, quote tables, and the items to compare. This functionality is available for Quote 2.0.

You can turn on the Enable Comparing Quotes and Revisions parameter from the list of parameters on the General tab under Setup( Setup>General>Application Parameters>Shopping carts and Quotes). Once the parameter is enabled, the quotes and revisions comparison feature is available on the quote list, list of revisions and the quote.

Selling multilevel configurations with S4/HANA, public edition

Multilevel configurations with configuration profiles Planned/Production Order and Set are now supported in integration with SAP CPQ Quote 2.0. We do support multiple nesting levels out of the box. Configuration sub-items that are sales relevant are converted into quote items

Scope items 1YT and 4OC are supported with CPQ2402 release and same will be supported in integration between SAP CPQ Quote 2.0 and S4/HANA, private edition starting from 2405 release.

NOTE: Discounting on subitems in configuration is not possible in standard integration at this point.

Integration with SAP Variant Configuration and Pricing improvements

New attribute type: Dynamic

We are delivering significant UX improvement for customers using restrictable characteristics in their backend models when CPQ is used integrated to SAP Variant Configuration and Pricing. Historically those were present in CPQ as free input attributes which obviously was not optimal as sales representatives had to enter complex codes. Now with 2402 release those characteristics will be presented as dropdown as evaluation on SAP Variant Configuration and Pricing service returns values. You will observe that those characteristics are now having type: Dynamic in setup

Pricing improvements

Mapping to a cost column. Quote 2.0 with document (stateful pricing) receives neet improvement when it comes to mapping of pricing procedure steps/condition types as now pricing conditions can be mapped to One-Time and Recurring cost columns. Be aware that SAP Variant Configuration and Pricing is not going to calculate cost but rather you can use other available condition types (most likely statistical) to map to a cost column in CPQ.

Variant conditions can be used in mapping as Condition types that have flag isVariant = true can be used for mapping in pricing procedure as read only.

Default discounts can now be set in CPQ when document pricing is used. This gives customer more freedom in choosing where defaulting can be done. Please do have in mind that if default discounts are set in CPQ they will override default conditions received from pricing service.

CPQ total calculations with products synced from back office

  • Added support for sending different condition types per item in bulk.
  • Variant calculation when SAP CPQ is calculating totals should work with custom fields

Item level pricing date in stateless pricing

Option to use item date in pricing calls was so well perceived on document pricing so we had to bring it also in stateless pricing after so many customers asked for it. If formula is maintained under Providers->General Attribute Mappings this formula will be used in communication with SAP Variant Configuration and Pricing.
