Seattle - Washington TT 019 Payroll Expense Tax

As of now Seattle, Washington is TT 019 is eligible and Employer is eligible to pay.

Effective 1/1/2021, Seattle has enacted a business excise tax the Payroll Expense Tax - applicable to all employers that are engaging in business in Seattle, Washington that have incurred an annual payroll expense in Seattle of $7 million or more in the prior calendar year, paid to employees whose annual compensation in the current calendar year is $150,000 or more.

The tax is levied upon businesses, not on individual employees. Because the law specifically precludes employers from withholding the tax from their employees, the tax is paid by the employer and there is no individual withholding.
