Hello all,
We are in a conversion project of an SAP ECC environment based on EHP6 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 and we have made successfully the conversion process to the new version of S/4HANA 2022 FPS02. For the whole conversion process we have used the official guide Conversion to SAP S/4HANA using SUM: ABAP Systems on UNIX and Linux (Software Update Manager 2.0 SP17 , (incl. Database Migration Option) Document Version: 1.0 - 2023-05-26).
Reviewing item 6 Follow-up activities of the guide, there is no mention in any section/step that activation of the Fiori layer has to be performed. I have been looking at different SAP blogs and notes about it, and in a conversion process to S/4HANA it seems to me that I don't have to run the typical Fiori activation tasks. Am I right?
According to SAP notes (which would apply to our version) 2902673 - Rapid Activation for SAP Fiori in SAP S/4HANA - Overview and 3308535 - Composite SAP note: Rapid Activation for SAP Fiori in SAP S/4HANA 2022 FPS02 it mentions the following:
The automation of the activation of SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA can be used for new SAP S/4HANA implementations and SAP S/4HANA upgrade scenarios. For details see release-specific composite SAP notes listed below.
Also the following blog talks about the activation of Fiori but all this always mentioning that it is a new installation, https://blogs.sap.com/2022/10/26/new-installation-of-sap-s-4hana-2022-fps0-part-4-rapid-activation-f....
I understand that in our case, this is a conversion, so it's not a new installation, implementation or upgrade. So the activation of the Fiori has already taken place during the SUM process. Can you shed some light on this doubt?
Best Regards.
Finally I decide to open a SAP case. Answer by SAP Technical team:
Yes, you should follow the SAP Note 3308535 and execute SAP_FIORI_FOUNDATION_S4, SAP_FIORI_CONTENT_ACTIVATION
and the previous SAP Help Link (https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/22bbe89ef68b4d0e98d05f0d56a7f6c8/999528cc1c8844a899e....).
Regarding the task list SAP_FIORI_FCM_CONTENT_ACTIVATION, it is required only if the written business roles need be activated as it written:
in SAP Note: 3308535
...
Business role naming convention is different to "SAP_BR*".
In such cases please make use of the task list SAP_FIORI_FCM_CONTENT_ACTIVATION where these business roles are available.
