Could you share an Excel version of the Requirement Traceability Matrix template?

Hello everyone,

This is the first time I've posted anything here. I've been trying to find an RTM template in the SAP Roadmap site but I got nowhere. I am doing a requirement gathering for a project and I am in a tight time frame. I don't have the time to go through PowerDesigner or SAP Solution Manager.

Could anyone share with me an excel version of Requirement Traceability Matrix I can use?

The requirements are traced either in SAP Cloud ALM for cloud first customers or in SAP Solution Manager. We don't provide off-line Excel based tracker. You can probably modify the backlog template if you want to do tracking in Excel, but I would not recommend to do that as that is highly manual process. In ALM tools mentioned above you can tie together the requirement, its realization + documentation, testing. Which you can off course do manually in Excel or other off-line tool, but there is an overhead and potential mistakes that can be made. Especially in projects with large number of custom objects, integrations and extensions this may become very challenging.

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, my SAP Solution Manager hasn't been setup and I just need a quick template to capture the requirements and trace them. I agree, however, that modifying the backlog template could take a lot of effort and time to make it work.

What about the old ASAP Roadmap Composer App? Is there a way to get access to archived app like that?
