Assign non-stock item in BOM

HI all,

Currently we are using Water as bulk material(defined in material master) in our BOM's. When consuming the components for production orders shop-floor ignores water consumption (removes from BOM list in production order). Now, as we go forward we need to see water consumption as well. In-order to do so, I thought of declaring water as non-stock item in BOM (item category N), but if I declare item category as N purchase requisitions are being generated which I do not want. Is there any other way to use water in my BOM's, please help.

you may create a pipeline material for water. include it in BOM

for goods issue of water, use special stock type P ( pipeline)
