No refund on faulty product

I bought a jacket and 2 hoodies from a store for in westfield carousel, the jacket had a faulty zipper and I tried to refund the product in less than 24 hours after purchase but they said it was non refundable. The employee stated that the ‘no refund’ was displayed on the receipt after purchase but as a customer how are you suppose to know that.The shop also did not display a ‘no refund’ sign. The ACCC also says 

  • displaying a ‘no refunds’ sign, or otherwise saying that refunds are not available at all, or not available at all after a certain number of days
