How you can activate message notifications in the on-premise version of SAP Marketing (Hyris).

Long time, hope you're well.

Note that the notification feature like in SMC is not available for the OnPrem yMkt.

Also, note that SAP will not be delivering any features or so in future.

Yes, long time.
I'd answer this like this - being in the Banking Industry, it's a choice to stay with the old and on-prem versions of yMkt or choose the latest Innovation by migrating to SAP Marketing Cloud which provides better security, agility, and quicker upgrades and features.

There are many banking-customers who're using cloud-based solutions. Feel free to add comments/queries.
