Content Studio bug: Display flaws

I have a recurring display flaw when creating and test sending emails from the Content Studio. It occurs when the background color is diffrent from the color of the layout or content blocks.

Although I defined a specific color for each block (so they are not transparent) I see the background color shining through as thin line in some spots. I attached a picture which illustrates the issue. This seems to be a bug in the Content Studio.

Can this be fixed quickly or is there a reliable workaround?

Hello everyone

we have the same effect appearing in our mailings and would be really interested in having a solution. It doesn't appear on all viewports and clients, but shows the same behavior (background color shining through...)

Hi Tobias and All,

this is what I can provide to you

https://www.emailonacid.com/blog/article/email-development/how-do-i-get-rid-of-the-lines-in-outlook-...

Unfortunately, the issue appears to be with Outlook. To pull a few points from the page I linked to above:

  • Nobody really knows the reason for the lines.
  • There isn’t a “fix,” per se, but instead there are things that can be tried, you know, trial and error, that might help them go away for a particular email.
  • Line height, font size, custom mso HTML with <br/>, non-breaking spaces, etc, are things users can try.
  • Some specific CSS is suggested, which we already use (though not exactly the way they have it)
  • Match the background color. Even more of a band-aid than the previous options.

Most of the fixes are things the user will have to try with their own emails. It’s definitely frustrating.

Ralf

Hi Ralf,

thank you so much for your suggestions and the link.
Well then, it seems we have to live with those lines for a little longer.

However, life would be boring if everything was perfect.

Kind regards,
Filip

Hi Ralf,

thanks for your feedback. I will hand that over to our marketing team.

If anyone has some news about that topic, it would be great if you share it here.

Hi Ralf,

Thanks. Though we can't apply the "custom mso HTML with <br/>" option in email lite, we can't edit the HTML like we could in email classic...

Hi Ralf,

do you know if there are already any updates on this?

We're facing the same issue und our marketing team asked when they can expect this issue to be fixed.

Could you provide your updates here as soon as you got feedback?

Thanks and best regards

Tobias

We encountered the same issue before. Didn't find a solution. In Email Lite by the way.

Here are some screenshots.

It was not occurring on all clients indeed, it is mostly Outlook being difficult.

What's even more: I have 2 screens, my laptop screen + an external screen.

The SAME email does not show the "ghost lines" on my laptop screen, but if I drag it to my external screen, then suddenly the lines show up. When I then zoom out too 90%, the lines disappear again.

And for other colleagues the lines appear on other places.

It seems to happen when you have within 1 layout block, multiple functions are added underneath each other. So here the layout is 50-50 split, and in the right block there is text + text + button.

Hello,

which editor did you use - Classic or Lite?

Check also the HTML code if any padding or margin causes the issue.
