The stars seemed to align and everything felt right in the universe as the Al Marshall Trio began to play. After many hours of planning the afternoon, the Black Employee Network (BEN) Events committee joined the company of over 150 members of our greater SAP community to enjoy jazz music.
To say that the Al Marshall Trio was fantastic misses the point. The entire event, including jazz music, southern Louisiana cuisine, and camaraderie, was exceptional! The food and music complemented each other to present a great experience for everyone.
Music touches everyone, and everyone loved the food. Feedback from colleagues was very positive.

BEN simply set out to give “thanks” to all of our friends and partners for their support this year on the successful launch of Project Propel, an initiative with Historically Black Colleges and Universities to offer education in the latest SAP technologies.
David Swanson, BEN Executive Sponsor and Global Lead for SAP runs SAP HR, put it best by saying that the initiative in a very short time has impacted SAP's ability to address gaps in the early talent pipeline for our ecosystem.
The achievement has been possible with the combined efforts of several teams at SAP, including University Alliances, Americas’ SAP Users’ Group, User eXperience and Design, Government Affairs, Human Resources, Recruiting, Learning Center of Excellence and Execution, SAP Silicon Valley, and Corporate Social Responsibility. For this privilege, we thank all of you who have accompanied us on this journey and continue to support our efforts to create opportunities for the large untapped talent of the African diaspora.
