Businesses control their active product portfolio, intermediates, or components on a regular basis. It may happen that no new supplies shall be created anymore for these products. In addition, those products should also not be visible anymore to the end user in supply planning or certain master data like BOM.

In this feature release, we have introduce the BLOCK status to product in planning application tab. You can now block products for a supply planning area. When products reach the end of their life or need to be temporarily blocked for usage, you can change the status to Blocked, in the Planning tab of the Product Portfolio work center. Once changed to Blocked, you cannot create or release new SCM documents such as planning proposals, demand forecasts, and production bills of materials with the blocked products, and these products will also not appear on value helps. However, they can still be added to other documents as items. You can change the status of the blocked products back to Active whenever required.
