Flow Diff Tool for Comparing Cloud Integration Flow Versions

This is a new tool that comes with CPI Explorer version 2021-09-19.

You can compare the contents of same/different flows in the same/different tenants in seconds.

Usage

  • Choose Tenant
  • Choose Package
  • Choose Flow
  • Get snapshot
  • Repeat for the other flow
  • Click “Compare Flows”

Here is a screenshot:

Use Cases

I think the most useful time to use this tool is just before transport. To be sure that only intended changes are present in the new version of the flow.

Also, there can be times when a flow is modified in the development environment then left without transport. After a few months, you might want to check those changes & see if they are still relevant.

To check differences in the same flow & in the same tenant. You have to get a snapshot and revert the flow on SAP Cloud Integration UI to an older version. The reason is there is no other way to get the old flow data from APIs.

Installation

It is free, you can get it from Microsoft Store, or download the portable version here:

Special Thanks

If you are feeling “deja vu”, nothing is wrong with you!

This tool was already implemented by Raffael Herrmann and published here.

While it is written from scratch for CPI Explorer and has some differences, Raffael’s version was a great source of inspiration!
