Dear Utilities Community,

We are happy to let you know that our monthly SAP Utilities Community call is continuing. Marc Rosson, utilities champion and utilities customer, is very active in organizing calls for the Utilities community,

The next call takes place on February 24th, 2021

SAP Work Manager Roadmap and Support Update Call

To better support Utilities in determining their roadmaps around mobility, scheduling & dispatch and future EAM solutions based on SAP we are holding a session focused on SAP Mobile Work Manager product.  This session will cover new release details, the future support timeframes for Work Manager, alignment to known Scheduling & Dispatch opportunities and future migration planning from Work Manager to SAP Asset Manager.

The deep dive on FSM is scheduled in May with utility sharing their implementation of both Asset Manager and FSM.”

SAP S/4HANA Community Call

I also want to make you aware of the SAP S/4HANA Community Call. In this monthly meeting SAP utilities customers closely collaborate on their move to SAP S/4HANA.

SAP S/4HANA Evangelist Bhagya Subbareddy launched a virtual monthly knowledge sharing and enablement session in collaboration with Marc Rosson  The next meet up is due to take place on March 11th at 11am PST with Southern California Edison, last sessions speaker was Sempra.

In last month session, Sydney Water, NextEra Peoples Gas presented about their go-live. Recording and slides are available for the SAP S/4HANA community members.

Here is some information about Peoples Gas' go-live:

Peoples Gas went live with a brown field conversion to SAP S/4HANA Utilities on November 2019. They started their project in mid-Nov 2018 (Explore/POC Phase from mid-Nov through Feb 2019; Realize Phase started in March 2019).

The company used consultants from SAP’s services organization to drive a lot of the project, and their in-house IT staff participated heavily as well. They are currently part of a larger business transformation project of their parent utility Essential Utilities. They approached the project as a technical migration of their existing SAP environment, which minimized user impact. They have been working on implementation of the SEW customer self-service portal, and development of a custom Fiori front-end for the call center agents.

Many thanks to Marc Rosson from Snohomish County PUD and Bhagya Subbareddy from SAP for organizing this call. This is a great opportunity for our customers to learn from the experiences of your peers and to exchange information.

Any utilities customers interested in joining the group should send a request to SAPUtilitiesNews. Please let us know if you want to be get an invitation for the SAP S/4HANA call or the SAP Work Manager call.

As requested by our customers, the focus of this meeting is on customer conversations, issues and enablement. It is not intended to be a forum for sales and services activities.
