I hope everyone is doing good and enjoyed my previous blog where three different Multichain node in different data center got connected and created Blockchain for verifying the data in distributed way. If you didn't get a chance to have a look into it please have a look which will help to get the whole context. So in this Blog we will see How Alexa can talk to Blockchain with the help of SAP Conversational AI. Lets look at the technical architecture which can help us to get idea how this whole Integration piece works.
Here SAP Conversational AI Makes this whole integration much simpler, very straight forward process it creates channel with Alexa and it take the input and send reply to Alexa through that channel.
In Previous blog we have seen how JSON RPC call works in Multichain, so basically we need to build one chatbot using SAP Conversational AI which will interact with our SAP Blockchain through JSON RPC Call and finally that chat bot will be connected with Alexa through Channel. If you dont have idea how to build chatbot using SAP Conversational AI then look at their cool tutorial and documentation its pretty much easy.
In this case we will be asking three types of question 1. Blockchain Node Information 2. What are the stream got published 3. Content of the particular stream.
Here I am not going to discuss what is intents , entity and how we can build the skills, all are well documented in documentation and tutorial page. You can find this whole chatbot project and can have a look how i have designed the intents and entity. My Skills template looks like below.
Here we would see how Blockchain node info skill works. Lets first look at intent .
I have tried to put as many expression as possible. lets have look of couple of expression.
Now we need to build the skill which can help us to get the information from Blockchain in text format. Skill is something which does real job now every skill can be triggered based on the user input or it can be trigger directly from other skill. In this case we will be using both Case A. When user will question about Blockchain node information Case B. From Greetings message bot will provide option to user what information he/she need based on user choosed option bot will trigger the skill.
In this case we are not going to use memory because we don't need any further details to process, so Requirements tab is not going to be used. We can define Action, in action we will call the Blockchain API to get the details.
But there is one problem because Multichain JSON RPC response format and the expected response format in SAP Conversational AI is totally different.
Expected Response format for SAP Converational AI. Where "this is sample reply" is reply from chat bot for particular question / conversation.
But the Blockchain JSON RPC response is like below
So in order to achieve that we have to create our own rest api which can give expected response, in this case i have used node js application and deployed this application into SAP Cloud Platform cloud foundry using CF CLI. If you dont know how to create and deploy node.js application in SAP Cloud Platform Cloud Foundry then you should look to these cool tutorial by SAP. Below is the code snippet of my index.js. This code contains all the three functionality.

Now lets deploy it into SAP Cloud Platform Cloud foundry through CF CLI, command : cf push
we can go to SAP CF space and have a look .
Lets test the api in postman.
We can use this api directly in Webhook of skill in Conversational AI and it will give us correct result. But this api doesn't have any security, lets secure this api using SAP API Management. basically we will create a proxy api and add "verify key" Policy which need to be passed in header. Open Access API portal and create Proxy API.like below. If you are new to SAP API Management then you should follow these cool blog.
define the api base path and click create.
Go to policies
Add policy like below
Save it and deploy it.
Now in order to get verify key we have to create product and create subscription application for that product.
Go to developer portal to subscribe it
Click on create to make subscription
Save it, you will get the key.
Now lets test the api in postman.
Same response but, you might have noticed that in header we have passed apikey. lets test it without passing the api key.
You can see the result.
Now lets go back to skill action and configure the web hook url for Skill Blockchain node.
Lets test this skill from chat bot.
Cool its working. Now we can create custom greetings skill which will make chatbot to greet us and give us option and based on the user input it will redirect to specific skill like below.

So whenever we ask alexa to trigger our bot Neo, it will give us option like this. Now in order to trigger this bot from Alexa we need to create another skill which will be triggered when our bot recieve conversation _start, it basically open a session through channel. And this skill always should redirect to custom greetings skill. the process i tried to explain below.

Alexa trigger skill will get trigger when conversation-start intent will be present in conversation
Now we need to create channel with alexa which any one can create through interactive wizard. go to connection and choose the channel and rest of the things wizard will tell you.
Just complete the wizard and test it in alexa developer console. Here is the vedio i have taken, have a look how this whole piece looks together.

we can go to SAP CF space and have a look .
Lets test the api in postman.
We can use this api directly in Webhook of skill in Conversational AI and it will give us correct result. But this api doesn't have any security, lets secure this api using SAP API Management. basically we will create a proxy api and add "verify key" Policy which need to be passed in header. Open Access API portal and create Proxy API.like below. If you are new to SAP API Management then you should follow these cool blog.
define the api base path and click create.
Go to policies
Add policy like below

You can see the result.
Now lets go back to skill action and configure the web hook url for Skill Blockchain node.
Lets test this skill from chat bot.
Cool its working. Now we can create custom greetings skill which will make chatbot to greet us and give us option and based on the user input it will redirect to specific skill like below.

So whenever we ask alexa to trigger our bot Neo, it will give us option like this. Now in order to trigger this bot from Alexa we need to create another skill which will be triggered when our bot recieve conversation _start, it basically open a session through channel. And this skill always should redirect to custom greetings skill. the process i tried to explain below.
create intents with single expression
Alexa trigger skill will get trigger when conversation-start intent will be present in conversation
Now we need to create channel with alexa which any one can create through interactive wizard. go to connection and choose the channel and rest of the things wizard will tell you.
Just complete the wizard and test it in alexa developer console. Here is the vedio i have taken, have a look how this whole piece looks together.
