Impressions from SAP TechEd Las Vegas 2012
The Portal team came back from SAP TechEd Las Vegas extremely “jet-lagged” and also extremely happy about a very successful event for our team. The Portal lectures and sessions were fully booked and we were very happy to see the great interest for the current SAP NetWeaver Portal version (7.3) and also for our new solution in the Portal portfolio: SAP NetWeaver Cloud Portal. We've also witnessed a strong interest in mobility and much praise about our mobile capabilities. People were very knowledgeable about our solutions, so we enjoyed the active exchange with the SAP TechEd participants coming to our sessions or the pod, and the meetings with customers and partners.

Enterprise Workspaces 1.1 SPS3 Released to Customers
The new release of enterprise workspaces extend SAP NetWeaver Portal with mobile, social, and collaborative capabilities that improve productivity and user experience on multiple devices, with minimal IT dependencies. The new release allows employees to create flexible, personalized, self-service work environments easier than ever. It improves productivity, empower employees and provide superior user experience any time, and also on multiple devices. SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 SPS8 Released to Customers
This new release includes several significant new enhancements for the consumption of the SAP NetWeaver Portal on mobile devices.
Among the highlights are:
- Out of the box, fully supported, tablet framework page (in addition to the smartphone framework page already shipped with SAP NetWeaver 7.3 SP7).
- Enhanced and streamlined branding and themeing capabilities for the mobile framework pages and mobile applications.
- Customizable Toolbox area for the smartphone and tablet framework pages. Toolbox is an overlaying list of launchable items, such as Favorites or Contacts, which you open and close using a tab on the left side of the mobile framework page.
- Out-of-the-box available configurations, such as: An Every User Mobile Role, enhanced logon pages for on-device usage, device group mechanism is active by default, and more.
- Consumption of Web Page Composer content on mobile devices.
- Wizard based NWDS plugin for consumption of SAP NetWeaver Gateway services.
