Reselling product is a typical business scenario. In the US though there exist a little bit special variant of this:

Some companies don't have to pay taxes for certain products they buy, but they have to tax them when reselling them to their customers.

So far this special process wasn't really supported well in ByDesign.

Recently we found a pretty easy solution for this and decided to ship this via a hotfix in Feature Pack 3.5.

As in the past you maintain your tax rate in the product master. When you don't maintain anything the "Standard" tax rate will be taken for your country.

In addition from now on you can define a "Tax Exemption Reason" of type "Resale- Exempt Purchase, Taxable sale". This will lead to a tax exemption in your purchasing documents for this product but will consider the defined tax rate in all of your sales documents.
