Diving into the Infinity Pool of the Retail Experience

In a few weeks SAP Retail Customers will be gathering in Chicago for the SAP Retail Forum.  It takes place October 19-21 at the historic Drake Hotel  .

The theme for the event, “Retail without Boundaries Today!” stirs my enthusiasm because of the potential for our customers to listen, learn, and speak with some of the most exciting retailers in the industry.  Nowhere else can they see the art of the possible when it comes to innovating how they improve their business 

The keynote, “The Next 10 Years: Flourish Amidst the Coming Economic Transformation” addresses something  on everyone’s mind; where do retailers take their business to ensure economic viability and growth, competitive superiority and the ever present need for improving brand awareness.  Technology’s role is no longer an option; it comes down to strategic enablement so that you simply, consistently operate better than your competitors

From my corner of the universe, I obsess on how retailers can offer a superior, differentiated shopping experience to their customers.  This year the Forum highlights these possibilities by showcasing how retailers can market and engage better, putting a spotlight on ways to drive uniqueness not just into the retail enterprise but literally into the hands of the shopper.

Mobility plays such a transformational role, whether it is putting accurate and real time information about the customer and their wants into the hands of the Store Associates, or  allowing shoppers to receive incentives and promotions via smartphones, making it more convenient for them to shop.

In my opinion, Retail without Boundaries Today! is like the warm, inviting infinity pool that, as my eyesight sets on the horizon, allows me to see out across the ocean to the endless possibilities of a Better Run Retail Business.
