If you are using SAP Cloud Transport Management service on SAP BTP, you might welcome a new option added this week to receive notifications when your storage quota has increased over the threshold of 85% of the total storage capacity. The actual notification is then sent via SAP Alert Notification service for SAP BTP.

This way, you can make sure to clean up your import queues in your transport landscape in time, before hitting your storage limit of your SAP Cloud Transport Management instance, which is currently 50 GB for our standard plan.

To clean up:

  • Either make sure to import transport requests in all import queues of your transport landscape (so the attached content gets deleted by the automatic cleanup mechanism of our service, after the retention time, which is 30 days for our standard plan),
  • Or remove outdated and obsolete transport requests from all import queues. Here, especially pay attention to transport requests in status Fatal, because the cleanup mechanism doesn't automatically delete them.

For more information on the capacity and cleanup of our persistency, see Background Information: Storage Capacity | SAP Help Portal.

To enable the notification, you first have to set up and connect SAP Alert Notification service for SAP BTP (if not already done, for other notification use cases) - and then just select the Enable Notification checkbox under  <Your e-mail address> --> My File Quota, as shown on the following screenshot:

For more information, on how to set up and connect SAP Alert Notification service and on how to enable specific notifications (also for the other events from SAP Cloud Transport Management you can get notifications for), see Receive Notifications for SAP Cloud Transport Management Actions Using SAP Alert Notification Servic...

Please be aware that although you find the option for the storage quota notification underneath your email address in SAP Cloud Transport Management service, you will receive the notification via the channel defined in SAP Alert Notification service for SAP BTP (which might be email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, ...).

Also, this is not a personal notification, but you switch on the notification for the instance of SAP Cloud Transport Management, for which the storage limit does apply. If you should have several instances of SAP Cloud Transport Management, each instance would have a own storage limit. As a result, all recipients defined in SAP Alert Notification service for this storage quota event will get notified. For example, all members of a corresponding team in Microsoft Teams or of the Slack channel or on the specified distribution list, depending on the defined notification channel.

We hope you find this new feature helpful for handling the delivery of your changes with SAP Cloud Transport Management service!
