My top features in March

Extending the Analytic Model

We are improving and extending our key modeling object again in various aspects.
(1) We have improved the user experience for the analytic model. Apart from smaller adjustments, semantic information for fact source measures is displayed. On the entry page of the analytic model editor, the deployment date is now displayed. You can now delete multiple dimensions at once. In the details for analytic models, measures, attributes, and variables, the dependencies are now displayed.
(2) Improving the consumption of associations in the Analytic Model. In cases where multiple associations and/or text association are defined on a single attribute in a fact or dimension, you can now specify which association (or local text attribute) should be used for each attribute when analytic models consume your entity. More information.
(3) You can now consume analytic models containing variables that require single values via the OData consumption API. More information.

Transformation Flow: SAP BW bridge as source with delta support

You can add remote tables located in SAP BW bridge spaces to a transformation flow and use delta extraction.
For more information: Creating a Transformation Flow and Additional Information About Remote Tables.

Data Center Update

SAP BW bridge as an optional feature of SAP Datasphere has now been enabled for the Google data centers (GCP) in EU30, IN30 and US30. We also plan further extensions of the data center coverage of our Datasphere offering during this and next year covering more regions with additional Google and Azure data centers.
You find the description of all features covered by the release ➡️ 2024.06 in the SAP Datasphere online documentation.

My top blogs in March

A very nice blog written by klaus_riemer highlights the
➡️ Porting Legacy Data Models in SAP Datasphere using the import CSN functionality and avoiding time consuming manual work.

@Sefan_Linders hits another home run with his blog about hierarchies with directory covering
➡️ Order siblings in a Hierarchy with Directory with SAP Datasphere. Very detailed and insightful extension of the existing series about hierarchies.

Another favorite of mine is the blog from @Lynne_Lintelman about business glossary and templates in the catalog:
➡️ Maximizing Communication Efficiency with SAP Datasphere Catalog's Business Glossary and Templates where she goes into the details of these areas in the catalog and explains it step-by-step.

This last one is for admins by @kostertim describing external monitoring capabilities using the CLI and external tooling
➡️ A Better Admin Program for SAP Datasphere.
