Hi experts,

We are experiencing some problems with dependencies in data services.

usage says 0 althoug a Dataflow is used, or maybe a workflow says that is used 17 times when only is used once. I coulnd't find how to replicate it, it just happend randomly.

a) close and enter in the Application does not resolve this

b) refresh object library does not resolve the usage column

b) there are differents ways to fix it depends of the case,

17 times used : when use "where used" function it shows the proper value

0 times used object: I had to delete the object and add it again in the parent object.

0 times used object is the matter that scary me a lot, because when try to export ATL file, the object is not proposed.

the version used is SAP BO DS 4.2 SP6, and the only sap note that seems to describe a similar issue, does not match my version

2314782 - The Usage column for a table in a Datastore shows 1 when it should be 0 in SAP Data Servi...

All help provided will be apreciated.

thanks in advance

The internal calculate usage dependency job is not running (properly). Have you changed your repository user name, password or other connection information?

Check section 15.5 Changing Job Server options in the SAP Data Services Designer Guide and follow the instructions under Display DI Internal Jobs.

Hi Dirk, thank you for your quickly response.

I have not performed changes on repository user name, password or other connection information.

but, I have modify in the designer, the following property

after change that, it ask "would you like to change parameter in server? (or something like that)"

can this setting affect in the internal jobs?

No, not at all. That's (one of) the first thing(s) I always do when starting to work in a new repo, increase the display length of teh object names. Never had this side-effect.

can you guide me with this?

Check section 15.5 Changing Job Server options in the SAP Data Services Designer Guide and follow the instructions under Display DI Internal Jobs.

it says:

Displays the software's internal datastore CD_DS_d0cafae2 and its related jobs in the object library. The CD_DS_d0cafae2 datastore supports two internal jobs. The first calculates usage dependencies on repository tables and the second updates server group configurations.

If you change your repository password, user name, or other connection information, change the default value of this option to TRUE, close and reopen the Designer, then update the CD_DS_d0cafae2 datastore configuration to match your new repository configuration. This enables the calculate usage dependency job (CD_JOBd0cafae2) and the server group job (di_job_al_mach_info) to run without a connection error.

it will affect all users and repositories? There are many people working and I need to close this test  only to me.

thanks in advance.

Sure, no worries, it only affects your  repository. Nobody else will notice anything.
