RHEL 7.8 supported for SAP

Hello SAP Members,

Specific Question for Redhat on SAP.

SAP's PAM points to RHEL's website (https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata/) ... some of the detail there is ambiguous, and (potentially) in conflict with SAP's PAM. Whom can we contact to get clarity for ambiguous cases like RHEL 7.8 support on NW 7.4 / NW 7.5. / S4 etc...

Please note, PAM only states 7.x, so we are specifically looking for RHEL 7.8 runs SAP.
Just for your info, SAP HANA does not have Redhat 7.8 supported (Ref. SAP Note 2235581 =>https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2235581

Does this restriction applied to All SAP components running NW on Oracle. What are the implications?

Regards,
AKL

Hello Isias,

Thanks for your response. Just had a word with Max Team, it is not supported. I understand SAP PAM universally states for 7.x but if you see SAP Support for HANA DB, RHEL 7.8 is not available. That raised our concern why SAP jumped from 7.7 to 7.9 in the HANA DB support matrix. See SAP note for ref. 2235581

Thankyou,

AKL

Hello AKL,

At the SAP PAM website, SAP will tell you that it supports RHEL 7.x, as you have noticed yourself.

This means that SAP Supports any 7.x version (including 7.8).

Isaías

Clarifying: the supported versions you saw are likely related to the ABAP application server 😉
