Similar to the previously submitted questions in June (and following the same procedures for the Trial version), I cannot access any of the features in the Messaging Administration screen. The following error appears:
"An error occurred while retrieving service instance details."

I had similar issue because no new Role Groups were created with 'dev' plan.
So I created another instance in my trial account with 'standard' plan and new Role Groups were created. (weird?)
Now assign these roles to your user, *close your browser* and then again login to your trial account and hopefully you will be able to view your dashboard.
Also, a side note, 'dev' plan is deprecated now.
You can use standard plan and life is much easier then.
Some additional info:
On the dashboard with 'standard' plan, you get a message to create an instance but you can just use the 'Lite Plan' option on the menu on the side and manage your Event channel groups.
