How to access metadata of DWC artifacts

Hello,

I would like to read the definitions of Graphical Views (Data Warehouse Cloud). Ideally from a table in the underlying HANA Cloud Database.

Usually, it is possible to read the definition of a view via the table "VIEWS" in schema SYS. However, for DWC artifacts the column 'DEFINITION' is set to NULL.

Is there any other way to read the definition of DWC Views from the underlying HANA Cloud Database? Or is the metadata (definition) of the views stored somewhere else (e.g. in XML files).

Hi Malte,

as of today, the definition of the tables reside in DWC repository and can not be accessed publicly.

The only thing you can do what comes close to what you want, is to create an Entity Relationship Model and drag the table into it. When When exporting the CSN file, you can find the definition of the table stored in DWC format.

Please note, that the CSN definition is not comparable to the SQL DDL of HANA .

thanks for your answer. Is there anything planned that would help us to access the table definitions in the future? Maybe an access to the DWC repository? It would really help us for documentation purposes.
