Hide Design toolbox of 2004s BEx analyzer

Hi,

if anyone know how to hide Design toolbox of 2004s BEx analyzer, please tell me how to do.

Business users would not use this design toolbox and this lead mis-operation of business user. So it is better not to display those toolbox on those business users.

Hi,

Goto BEx Analyzer -> View Toolbars -> Uncheck BEx Design Toolbox.

to hide BEx Design Toolbox.

Thanks for yoru advice.

I click right button on the side of excel and uncheck the "design toolbox". And I find designe toolbox would not launched with anlyzer after the next time. But it is possible to use this button if customer check the indicator again.

I would like to prohabit to use designe toolbox fo business users.

if you have, please tell me the good solution.

i have the same issue, I'd like to block the design toolbox authorization wise, so business users can't mess up the workbook design.

anybody got a solution how to block this?

Hi,

Goto BEx Analyzer -> View Toolbars ->customize...

here you can delete the toolbar, alternatively you can just uncheck and rename as "dont use" or something.

Sure that's as solution....we want to block it authorization wise. For now the users can still enable the toolbox.

I think the whole idea is not to allow business users to change the workbook layout by adding some items.

This can be done by protecting the workbook.

Deisgn toolbox -> Workbook settings -> Password protect workbook and give password

Save the workbook..

Now nobody can add any item to the workbook which is in a way disabling the deisgn toolbox.

I dont think, they can enable the tool bar once it is deleted in customizing toolbars... but the users will still be able to access design functions through Bex Menu...

if you want to restrict the users from changing the main workbooks we can restrict where users not to save them in roles. and allowing them to save them only in their favourites..

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the responses so far. I've tested this and it work fine indeed.

However, after applying the password protectiong, I've lost the drap & drop functionality.

Any ideas?
