Datasphere Capacity Units Usage explanation

JulienM

Hello the community,

For Datasphere, I know we can see the consumption via SAP.ME or via the BTP Cockpit, but i would like to understand exactly how it works.

We do notice that even with really small amount of data loaded in the system, we are using most of our capacity units over a month.

What is the exact way to know how much the compute power and querying is using in terms of capacity units ?

Imagine I have a system with 4300 CU, if I reach those 4300 units, does that mean I would not be able to load or query anymore ?

Or is it more that I always have 8vCPU for instance available at every hour during a specific month so I would always be able to query but never going over that limit ?

I do see some months we are a bit over the 4300 CU.. Are we going to be charged for that knowing that our pricing is not pay per use ?

Can anyone give me more explanation on how it works exactly ?

Thanks a lot for your support

Julien

Hi @JulienM,

First of all, Datasphere pricing relies on tenant sizing: Configure the Size of Your SAP Datasphere Tenant.
More storage or compute power higher the price. Refer to SAP Datasphere Capacity Unit Estimato.

For variables like "Data Integration: Execution Hours", "Premium Outbound Usage" and "Catalog Usage".
You can monitor them in "Tenant Configuration".

If you consider the Help Portal info as not sufficient, feel free to raise your questions / share your feedback via Open Documentation Initiative for SAP Datasphere: Provide Feedback and Help us Improve the Documenta....

Hello Ismael,

I was thinking that the community could really helped me with this as I already know 5 companies asking temselve the exact same question.

I know how to monitor, but I still need explanation of what I see and the best way to properly sized.

I will then raise a ticket, but if anyone got more information on this, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks a lot

Julien
