Hello,
I have successfully installed the latest SAP Netweaver Development Edition and am ready to get my SAP GUI running (Java Client). The installation fails with the following error message:
Failed to install native resource: Linux-lib.jar
Host system is Ubuntu, so is the guest system. Does this occur because the installation file provided is for MAC OS users?
Is there a SAP GUI version out there for Linux users?
Thank you / wieman01
This looks like what is mentioned in note 1617725
In case the log contains an error message starting with "Failed to install native resource", it is likely that the used installer is for another platform. Then download the installer intended for your platform.

Hello Martin,
Thank you for your answer. This worked, great!
The reason I was confused is because the SAP Netweaver package obviously includes one SAP GUI version for Windows and another two Java files that only work with Mac OS. I tried both and both failed as described. I would have expected a version for Linux as well, but apparently you need to download it separately.
Interestingly you can only download the SAP GUI client for Linux when you have a P-user ID. For Mac OS and Windows is provided as part of the Development package without a need for a P-user ID. To me that is a little odd and may not make a whole lot of sense.

Rolf,
It took a little while to get back to you. This is the place from which I downloaded Netweaver:
Like I said, there are two JAR files in the repository, but none of them work on Ubuntu.
