Lumira Discovery and BIP- Document with 2 stories crashes when selecting second story after Query Panel edited --

Lumira BIP and Discovery --2.1 SP00

BI Platform 4.2 SP3

I have a lumx with a single UNX data source. It has 2 stories, each with filters. In Discovery and BI Platform I get the same behaviour, although with different error messages (see attachments) The following workflow produces the error:

Open document Refresh Select second story Error is produced I created a test document to replicate the issue and it behaves slightly differently.

Create document Import data Add visualisation to Story 1 Create Story 2

Add Visualisation to Story 2 Save and Close Open document

Can switch between Stories ok Add filter to Story 1

Error is produced when selecting Story 2

The common factor seems to be that the Data Source is edited (new object added or similar) after first being built. I created another test document and it can switch Stories with filters just fine based on the initial fetch of the data. Once I edited the Data Source and added another object, it failed immediately when selecting Story 2.

Hello,

I have the same issue with a .LUMX file. Is there a possibility to get the data.

I have spent much time in the report and don't want to make it new from the beginning.

Greetings!

Hi SASChA,

If you issue is related to the original issue I raised. Then that was a bug, I raised it with SAP development and this has been fixed in Lumira 2.1 SP1.

Hi Amarachi,

you're right. With Lumira 2.1 SP01 the .LUMX file works.

Thank you for answering!

Hi All,

I ran into this information while searching for a solution online. Please can anyone confirm that the restriction below still applies to lumira 2.1.

  • Once a LUMX document is edited using the designer component, it cannot be edited in the discovery component. The LUMX file can be opened in discovery and viewed, and the offline data can be refreshed using discovery – however the visualizations and stories cannot be modified. This restriction is planned to be lifted in a future release.

Yes, I believe it does. You can ask SAP this question live at this upcoming webcast:

Thanks for responding Tammy, When you say it does, do you mean 2.1 still has this restriction or that this restriction has been lifted?

Thank you for your time.
