Landscape version interoperability

Former Member

Hello all,

We have a landscape with the following components / versions:

1. ECC 6.0 EHP3

2. BW 7.01

3. BPC 7.3

4. Portal 7.0

5. CRM 4.0

6. SolMan 7.01

7. GRC 5.3

8. TREX 7.0

We are planning to execute 2 projects:

a. ECC: Upgrade to EHP8 + Hana Migration (BSoH)

b. BW: Upgrade to 7.5 + Hana Migration

We are trying to determine if the current landscape will still work after executing the 2 projects. We went through the PAM (Product Availability Matrix), UDA (Upgrade Dependency Analyzer) and Notes (1388258, etc.); but we were not able to determine the impact.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks!!!

Dear Agustin,

first of all I would upgrade the Solution Manager, because 7.2 is the only supported version. The rest is out of maintenance.

Afterwards you can try to create dependencies in the Maintenance Planner. Therefore please check the user guide which is linked on the Maintenance Planner landing page. The chapter "Product Maintenance Dependency" should be of interest.

Additionally please check this section of SAP Note 1388258:

ATTENTION: As long as there are no entries given in UDA for products of SAP Business Suite 7i2016 (e.g. ERP EHP8 or conducted NetWeaver 7.50) please use the predecessor product (e.g. ERP EHP7 or conducted NetWeaver 7.40) - this rule is valid for all combinations of SAP Products except those which are explicitly mentioned in the Version Interoperability Matrix attached as PDF file to this note.

So instead of EHP8 for your ERP system you choose EHP7 and check the dependencies with the connected Systems in UDA.
Regarding the version interoperability you can also check the picture at https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/x/yAB8E.

Cheers,
Andreas
