How can assign in Identity Authentication Service IAS bulk users to a group?

Hello,

we created groups in Identity Authentication Service IAS.
Now we need to add hundreds of users to these groups.
We found only the option to add users one by one to a group, which is not helpful.

We could import groups via CSV file upload.

But users to a group?

Many Thanks!

Thomas

Hi Tomas. I get your point and agree that a more CSV options should be available. I'd say that if you already have your users from EntraID you can also manage the groups from there and provision using SCIM. You'll find also the APIs in the API hub. As I Said, I agree on the point for more CSV options but i guess is not the vision of SAP to introduce such features or I guess they are prioritizing more intersting featrures to use systems as source (like entraID) other than including options to manage users and groups locally in the IAS UI

@ThomasHiesener

you can go to User management - download the template and import it .. In each individual user in group column, you can have comma separated group names

or

you can go to each Groups - import the users

Dear All,

Maybe more details:
Our IAS users were provided by Entra.

I have a new group "XYZ".
I need to add this new group "XYZ" to 10 (in IAS already existing) users.
Every user has a different number of roles assigned already.

I tried the function "Import Users" with csv and yes this works somehow.
But this means, the IAS realized that the user exists already but will overwrite all mandatory fields (status, mail, lastName, groups).
This means, that if the user has 10 roles assigned already, first those will be deleted, and afterward the ones from the file will be added.

Friendly! This is impossible, critical, and complicated.
I just need a simple thing, which is available in any system.
Bulk user assignment to roles or vice versa.

So, how to assign 10 existing users to one existing new role in bulk without overwriting?
OR

Many Thanks!

Hi Thomas

I don't think a template is available to download. You can check the documentation for CSV file format if needed

https://help.sap.com/docs/identity-authentication/identity-authentication/import-user-groups-via-csv...

Remember you can provision user to groups by other means. ie, via IPS you can read users/groups from a source system and provision to IAS target system.

Dear All, maybe I never explained it in detail.
