General Questions on Offerings from SAP

Former Member

Hello Colleagues,

i am trying to put all together as a proposal for one of a private POC business case.

I have worked with SAC and S4HANA

My Question is .

1. How can you sell all the offerings in a single architecture.(SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD Smart predict , SAP Data hub, SAP S4HANA Onpremise, SAP PAI) ?

2. How smart predicts help SAC, As i see the dataset has to be uploaded every now and then it generates visualization with prediction.

3.Can i integrate the results data-set directly with SAC ?

4. Is there anyway to replace the datasets in smart predict with live data?

5. Can i push the planning data into S4HANA ?(Write Back)

6. Why do we publish our models from SAC SMART PREDICT into S4HANA ? Does it automatically generate any application in real time? i donot really see a connection here between s4HANA and SMART Predict. please help me understand this

Hi,

1. You can't really - what you describe there is a mix of "on premise" and "cloud Saas" . However, some customer opt for on-premise solutions which are hosted in a private could (in the case of S4 for example) so that blurs the lines a bit.

2. Smart Predict does require a dataset be uploaded for processing . However, recently, we are also supporting Smart Predict ontop of Live connections to HANA database .

3. The predictive datasets can be consumed directly in a SAC story, or a model can be built ontop of the datasets then a story.

4. Yes, see above 2. we're now supporting HANA APL pushdown processing for Smart Predict on HANA Live connections.

5. Yes, SAC Planning can export it's output (writeback) to S4HANA on premise, BPC, and IBP. Soon there is a roadmap item to do this to BW4 as well.

6. That scenario could be a SAC Analytical application (or story) where the Planning capabilities are combined with Predictive - to create, for example, a Planning Forecast built using Smart Predict - then output those results again either as a new plan version, or to score the predictive model directly in the source application. (in the case of PAI - precitive analytics integrator)

Kind regards,

H

Further to add

1) Does smart predict support multivariate regression or time series?

2)Does it have support for any new algorithms?

3)Any steps or doc to implement write back with S4

4)Model is not published in S4 but PAI!!! if not the model stored in S4 can be used with HANA Flowgraphs right PMML???
