Future of SAP Portal? What direction should we go, if enterprise not going on SAC?

Just read from Eric Fenollosa the post "SAP Analytics Business Intelligence Statement of Direction – April 2023 update".

What is the direction should we go, if we want to replace SAP Portal 7.5 (Application Server Java within SAP NetWeaver 7.50), and enterprise not choosing to go SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud)?

Hi 0-christophe.lemaire_nspa

SAP's portal strategy is now "Workzone" https://www.sap.com/uk/products/technology-platform/workzone.html

this is a BTP-hosted runtime (including its development environment), and is the evolution of Cloud Portal.

it's worth noting that all solutions from SAP have their own concept of a Fiori launchpad, however this Workzone can be understood as being a 'wrapper' to unify those entry points.

Thank you very much Henry for your feedback. Much appreciated. I went through the demo but hard to get a view on the customizing possibilities, to actually simplify presentation for a business user.

I just wonder on the practical side, what would be the BW/BO objects that could be "posted" on this Work Zone. On the analytics side we have BW Queries (some times within Web Application designer), BO WebI, BO Lumira, which we currently post on either a SAP Portal (for BW) or the BI LaunchPad (for BO). I find BO Launch Pad an issue for users as the presentation is overcrowded with non relevant stuff. SAP Portal is more easy to the point access, based on simple BW roles. So simplicity is a key success factor for business users.
