Fiori personal information apps & decoupled IT framework

Hi altogether,

last week I had a call with a customer. They are using personal informations apps (addresses and bank data) for their users.

I then ran into the decoupled framework question, whether it should be activated in T77S0 (PC_UI switch) or not. In the last projects I implemented these fiori apps, I simply ignored that switch.

I did some research in www and SAP sites and in ABAP coding itself. My result: No need to activate that switch with the fiori apps.

On SAP help sites and notes, there is no word about that switch using the fiori apps. In coding, I found out, that class CL_HCMFAB_PERSINFO_FEEDER directly collects and uses the data from table t588uiconvclas (UI structure and check class).

Now my question: Am I right, that fiori personal information apps automatically uses decoupled infotype framework? There is no need to activate the switch PC_UI in T77S0.

Why would someone NOT use DCIF now?!?! It has been around for more than a decade and is used every where (ESS, HCM P&F, etc).
