Hi,
Need help creating a connection to SAP R/3. Firstly,
Can we use EP to connect to R/3 4.6C version ?
I have the following paramters when I create a SAP system in 'System Landscape' in EP. I dont see an entry for client, host, user, app server etc..Where do we maintain these? Appreciate yr help..

Assuming you are using a dedicated connection string follow the steps below.

Create new system in system landscape editor using;
SAP_R3_Dedicated option,
Assign system details to iView,
Click finish then open object for editing,
Change property category to connection,
Enter application host details (use FQDN),
Enter Client (300),
Logical System Name,
Server Port(3200),
Save,
Now select UserManagment,
Enter User\Admin pwd details,
Save,
Now select Edit "System Alias" option,
Enter a system alias.
You can test this through System Administration>Support>SAP Applications>SAP Transaction
or you can create a new iView in Portal Content that utilises the System via the alias.
Note - be sure to enter the correct usermapping details!
