Clarification on Cloud Integration Management API (OData) Usage and Message Quota Deduction

Former Member

I'm seeking clarification on the billing aspects of the SAP Cloud Integration service.
While I understand that the usage of iFlows incurs costs based on a specified amount for a 10k message block, it's not clear to me whether the usage of the Cloud Integration Management API, particularly for activities like accessing logs, is deducted from the message quota and requires additional payment.

Can someone shed light on whether the Cloud Integration Management API usage is included in the integration suite or if it’s charged for?

Thanks!

Hello Dennis,

If you are using SAP Cloud Integration APIs then there is no cost involved if both consumer & producer are SAP solution.

If you are using SAP API management on one side and SAP Cloud Integration then metrics in SAP Cloud Integration depends on receiver system ( or where you are sending data after receiving it from SAP API M ).

you mentioned the "the Cloud Integration Management API usage". Do you mean call the CPI management API from a client? I don't think it will be count in. only the request through CPI or APIM will be count in as usage. Any request to API provided by APIM or CPI won't be counted.

I am talking about this api: https://api.sap.com/package/CloudIntegrationAPI/odata

It would be great if there was a sure answer by SAP.
Many automations our customers think of, would result in doubling the operation cost of the CPI if this API would be considered in the quota metrics.
But if it is free of charge, we can connect external systems to those apis and dramatically improve the user experience of our (and your) customers.

hello nanwang thanks for linking this sap note. I’ve have already read the whole note, but it does not mention the management api at all.
So one can assume, that the OData api is not metered by SAP, but that’s not confirmed by this note. Can you confirm that?
It would be really great if you could, because a lot of customers are unsure about that.
