Failed to drop service binding '<not my number1>' for instance '<not my number2>' on database '<not my number3>' (<not my number3>.hana.trial-<region>.hanacloud.ondemand.com:443), because of:

Failed to open connection to the database, because of:

Failed to get connection for database '<not my number3>' (<not my number3>.hana.trial-<region>.hanacloud.ondemand.com:443), because of:

i may have confused number4 with number3, etc but the service instance name is assigned by me: 201221svc

Hi Denys,

thx for the good tips and responding to my question.

just a theory at this point, but it seems that my account lost the original quota assignment for SAP HANA Schemas & HDI Containers/hdi-shared as i cannot add any new instances of the service any more, the database connection is broken as it cannot find the service instance which i cannot delete since the key is still there, but which, in turn, cannot be deleted, either.

i don't want to nuke the account yet as it still has some services which will not expire until the end of this month.

Cheers,

gm

Hi Greg,

Looks like the service binding cannot be dropped because

  • no connection to the database can be made because
  • the database is not started?

What message is returned when the database is up and running?
